activacion de windows XP

Una laptop lackeada por microsoft.

Despues del welcome screen aparece un windows con esta leyenda:

windows product activation

this copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can logo on. Do you want to activate windows now?

Recuerdo haber tenido una pc con ese problema ahce tiempo pero no recuerdo la solucion. Si alguien me puede ayudar se lo agradecere.

a mi me paso algo parecido....lo que hice fue buscar un cd de instalacion de una version identica del windows instalado en la PC, y al momento de ejecutar el wizard de instalacion pregunta si quieres dar un "repair" al sistema dando a la tecla R, con eso lo hago...

PEro como los tiempos han cambiado tanto...quizas haya otro metodo...vamos a ve que logramos.

The Product Activation data is kept in the wpa.dbl file in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. If you have access to a master image or backup copy of that file that was created when the PC was working properly, you can boot into Safe Mode, open Windows Explorer, and copy the wpa.dbl file into the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Reboot and you should be back in business. If that doesn't work, boot into Safe Mode again and delete the wpa.dbl and wpa.bak files, and reboot. With those files no longer there, Windows XP will have to reactivate, because it reads them when it checks to see if it is activated.

Please remember I am researching your problem and just passing along information I have gathered, if any of the fixes do not work or further complicates your problem, be mad at the problem not me, this is a learning experience for me also, you can bet once you find the fix for a problem you will never forget the time you spent learning something new.
